Dougy Ivanovic (Mr Jindy) from Melbourne with another one of his
trophy brown trout. This fish was caught on fly on the Thredbo
River on the 14th May 2008. Dougy is usually seen trolling
Lake Jindabyne but as all good anglers can, he is also an expert
on river fishing using both fly and lure methods.
True anglers are experts on all methods of catching fish and
will always change the method to suit the occasion.
Being able to read the conditions makes for a very successful
angler. |

Big browns like this are often caught at this time of the
year and some have been released from Gaden Trout Hatchery as
ex-brood stock. Of course it is also the time of the year that
all of the huge (up to 10 kilo plus) Atlantic Salmon are also
released after they have been used for the hatchery breeding
program. It is a reminder to all anglers that you have to maybe
be prepared for these big fish and a good start is good quality
line and a very big net!

Fishing in the snow often brings rewards like this 3kg Atlantic Salmon caught by Nathan Wolhuter from Canberra.
The Salmon was caught trolling using a Steve Williamson personalised number 36 Tasmanian Devil Lure.
